Dont buy a car through Driveway.com if you need to use your car anytime soon! I had multiple issues with this place..they told me a 500 dollar deposit would save the car then told me they hoped they could hold on to it while my bank finalized the loan after I paid it.
The day after it was delivered it wouldn't start and even though I had all these warranties, I was told I had to cover repairs up front and they would "pay me back" including the tow. Thank goodness Mercedes knows how customer service works. They saved my *** when driveway left me high and dry. I've had my car for almost a month and even though I did my part and submitted all my DMV paperwork on time no one was working on my registration that THEY have to do for you.
My temp tag expired weeks ago, and now I can't use the car without driving illegally, but don't worry, Driveway will pay for your ticket if you get pulled over...can't do anything for you if you get points for the ticket on your license tho! Im told its gonna be now 4 -6 more weeks now before I get my plates! No one ever follows up and your emails and texts get no response after you buy the car. They misrepresented the car not having a manufacturer's defect...seat will not pull down all the way in the back.
These guys don't have any way to cover any expense up front if you have a problem..thats all you, they'll issue you a check two weeks later when they get around to it. If you use your own bank to buy the car, you can't return the car in the 7 day window they don't tell you this until after its done. I had to provide my private documents 50 times each, their online document server never worked, they asked me over and over for documents they didn't need because they did not do the finance. ( can't imagine how much more of a disaster THAT would have been) THIS PLACE SUCKS AT SERVICE, COMMUNICATION AND JUST OVERALL EXISTING.
Don't go here unless you want an endless headache!!

I wouldn't even know where to start. Driveway employees' attempts at coercion with "yo-yo sales" is completely fraudulent in my state.
Employees, particularly a sales manager with the name "Bobby" and also Elias Flores, are completely unprofessional and incompetent. Apparently my deal "fell through," which I realized three months later after already receiving the car. I was then told I had to start all over on the paperwork and was threatened with driveway coming to pick my car up. Driveway then increased my interest rate leaving me no choice but to agree to their new terms..
this is completely a fraudulent sales tactic in alabama. Not to mention, I did not have a tag and/or registration until August... FIVE MONTHS LATER. during that five months, I was pulled over by Decatur City Police and about a month and a half later, I was pulled over once again by an Alabama State Trooper on the interstate, on my way to work, and was ordered out of the car by gunpoint due to the fact that he thought he was pulling over a 'suspect' in a stolen car.
Do you think I received a phone call back, a text message, or anything after leaving this traumatic situation that I went through on Elias Flores' voice-mail? Absolutely not, nothing. I then contacted the third party about my DMV issues myself and resolved my own problem in three days. But it took driveway employees over five months and counting?
I'm not sure if the employees I encountered are just lazy or are completely incompetent.
I do not want to speak with anyone from this company again. I just want to make my payments and be left alone.

Terrible service
Attempted to sell an old car to Driveway. They agreed, we set a purchase price.
Then spent 3 days gathering photos, providing documentation, even taking second photos of my driver's license because it was not in color. Seriously? Then they put in another layer of documents and back-and-forth with UPS on overnights. Then a review by their credit agents.
Huh? That's when I cut it off, in my mind. When I did not respond, they sent me a note and said we can't buy your car because it is too old and this "age" requirement was a recent change we did not know about. What crap!
A scam operation. Sold my car the next day to a different company, who drove it away that day.

Figured it was a safe transaction. Get the car delivered, but can't get any temp tags or get it registered because now there is suddenly no signed title by the dealership...that is Driveway's excuse. I called the dealership, they said its on Driveway...way to do business #Michaels Subaru of Bellevue in Washington State...STAY AWAY FROM THEM and DRIVEWAY. I got one Driveway customer service who says, "You can reach out to me anytime and I will respond"...no response for weeks.
Another sees a bad review I left on Trust pilot...they offer to make the first car payment, never receive a check. I can't even make the first car payment, because apparently I don't exist in their system now...and as others have said, got a letter saying, after approval, after $500 deposit sent, that now they need MORE money in order to make the deal...NO DEAL until I see a title in the State I live in...they can come get the paperweight sitting in my garage and give me my $500 back.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Been over a MONTH and still nothing but a flipping paperweight.

Driveway.com is a front for an organized crime scam. They are an illegitimate business and they need to be investigated for racketeering.
My partner found a car on their scamming website and put down a $500 deposit for a vehicle located at DCH Toyota of Oxnard, CA.
On the very day he was supposed to pick up the vehicle, he was informed that THE CAR HAD BEEN SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE!
Subsequent conversations with reps, including "Performance Manager" (joke title) Todd Johnson, proved futile. Not only are they unwilling to assist in obtaining a different vehicle but they refuse to return the $500 deposit to hold a vehicle that was sold out from under him. Every inept company representative he spoke to freely admitted their fault in the car being sold out to someone else but somehow they apparently feel entitled to his deposit and now he will have to sue them to get it back.
Even more outrageous, he literally heard them laughing at him and making jokes when they thought he hung up and he has a recording of the whole thing. I wonder if theyll be laughing when its played for the judge in small claims court?
Their unprofessionalism is blatant and staggering.
AGAIN - DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH DRIVEWAY.COM unless you want your money stolen and your time wasted by a pack of two bit sleazy unethical used car salesmen who feel they can steal with impunity.
You have been warned, dont be a fool.
You dont even have to take my word for it, I invite you to visit the Better Business Bureau's website (bbb.org) to see their pathetic score and what other victims have to say about this criminal enterprise, or read their google reviews or do a web search for other reviews. I wish we had, they are atrocious.

Purchased a vehicle from driveway on jul 30 2023. Also i traded in my vehicle.
I was thinking this process would be more convenient as i purchased a Tesla completely online and it was the best car buying process ever. I was sadly mistaken. This company fails at every turn. The initial contact was good.
Then they received their money and the train crashed there . It took from jul -OCTOBER.. for them to pay off the trade in. Not only that but i contacted them every week.
I have had to pay both my trade in and the new car payments for months . Then they under pay the contract signed agreement for trade in. And havent had a single answer for me on what they intend to do about it . Do yourself a favor .
Avoid this company like the plague .
Also the delivery was changed after multiple text messages stating it would be delivered. Time taken off work for delivery just so they could cancel ..
Preferred solution: Refund the payments i made after they took my trade in. And pay the sum agreed upon for trade in
